Transparency

All social media campaigns and articles must disclose if the journalist has been paid, incentivised or in any way rewarded to endorse, promote or review a product in their piece. This includes when a product or service has been given to them for free. This needs to be clearly and unambiguously stated when a product, brand or service is tagged, linked or endorsed in any way.

 

Literary Piece

For the best written article over 800 words on any platform

Criteria:

  • Did the article increase your knowledge of the subject?
  • Is the storytelling coherent & does it hold your attention?
  • How do you score the calibre of writing?
  • Is the story or concept unique?
  • Did the piece execute the brief submitted by the journalist?
  • How likely would you be to share or like this content?

Short Piece

For the best written article between 300 – 800 words on any platform.

Criteria:

  • Did the article increase your knowledge of the subject?
  • Is the storytelling coherent & does it hold your attention?
  • How do you score the calibre of writing?
  • Is the story or concept unique?
  • Did the piece execute the brief submitted by the journalist?
  • Would this piece encourage you to buy fragrance?

Practical Guide

A how to article of any length on any platform.

Criteria:

  • Did the article increase your knowledge of the subject?
  • How do you score the calibre of writing?
  • Is the approach unique?
  • Did the piece execute the brief submitted by the journalist?
  • Would this piece encourage you to buy fragrance?

 

Rising Star

Open to anyone who is new to fragrance journalism and has been in this field for under 2 years. The piece must have been published either online or in print.

Criteria:

  • Did the article increase your knowledge of the subject?
  • Is the storytelling coherent & does it hold your attention?
  • How do you score the calibre of writing?
  • Is the story or concept unique?
  • Did the piece execute the brief submitted by the journalist?
  • Would this piece encourage you to buy fragrance?

 

Creativity

For the most creative approach to fragrance communication

This award combines the former categories of Creative Visual, Video Engagement, Social Engagement and Innovation and rewards communicating to and engaging with the fragrance consumer in a creative and novel way across any/all platforms.

Criteria:

  • How creative did you find the piece?
  • How original/unique did you find the piece?
  • How engaging did you find the content?
  • How would you rate the appearance/quality/craft of the captured image(s)/production?
  • To what extent did this piece engage in a new way with consumers?
  • Did the piece execute the brief submitted?
  • How likely would you be to share or like this content?
  • Would this submission encourage you to buy a fragrance?

Entrants to provide a brief including strategy, target audience, key objectives and quantitative data to support claims of success.

Entries can be a one-piece submission or a cross media submission and can be an individual or team submission.

For video content: Submissions should be no longer than 20 minutes.

For social media submissions: this needs to be a campaign across all social platforms (up to 10 examples).
