Catherine Mitchell, Chairman of the Judging Panel
Catherine joined International Flavours & Fragrances (IFF) in 1990.  Catherine has worked across all areas of the business from Fabric Care to Fine Fragrance, and spent two years at the global headquarters in New York.  As one of the global leaders in the creation of fragrance IFF is a committed supporter of The Fragrance Foundations.  Catherine’s passion for spreading the education and joy of fragrance to a wider audience is infectious.

Beth Horn

As Head of Industry for Retail & Ecommerce, Beth oversees Facebook’s relationships with retail and ecommerce companies in the UK, focusing most keenly on beauty, department stores, and the high street.  In her over nine years at the company, she has worked across all sectors of the retail industry, helping the largest retailers in the world to build their business, be it online or in store.  This work spans the entire Facebook family of apps and services, including Instagram, WhatsApp, and Messenger.  Before moving to London in 2018, she led Facebook’s retail business in the United States.

Prior to Facebook, Beth led global paid search for Microsoft and Expedia while at Efficient Frontier (now part of Adobe).  She began her career in the creative department of Macys.com in New York.  She is a frequent speaker on marketing and the future of retail, having delivered keynotes at events including Tech. by Retail Week (where she served on the Advisory Board), The Retail Summit (Dubai), Emarsys Revolution, SMX Social, Retailology, and StorePoint.  She gave a TEDx talk on millennials, technology, and change at TEDxYouth@HotMetalBridge.

 A native of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Beth is an honours graduate of Stanford University, with degrees in history and drama.

 

Brix Smith

A songwriter and guitarist best known for her work with the legendary post-punk band, The Fall. She went on to form The Adult Net and more recently Brix & the Extricated. In May 2016, she published her memoir The Rise, The Fall, And The Rise. Brix is now working on a film, multiple podcasts and recording her first solo LP with legendary producer, Youth.

 

Sali Hughes

Sali Hughes is a journalist, presenter and broadcaster, specialising in beauty, women’s issues and film. A former magazine editor, she has written extensively for Vogue, Elle, Grazia, The Telegraph, The Observer, Red, Stylist, Marie Claire, Cosmopolitan, Glamour, Shortlist, Radio Times, Woman & Home, Good Housekeeping and Net-a-Porter.

She lives in Brighton with her two sons and husband, TV comedy writer Daniel Maier. In 2019, she won the J&J Award for Outstanding Contribution to Beauty, and the prestigious CEW Achiever awards, both as voted by industry peers.


Sarah Jossel

Sarah Jossel is an award-winning journalist, writer and TV presenter with more than 10 years'experience in magazine publishing. 

Her weekly column #BeautyBOSS is a must-read for consumers and industry insiders, which covers everything from plastic pollution and sustainability to fragrance forecasting, cosmetic surgery and spa guides. 

 Sarah is a weekly host on This Morning, presenting beauty segments alongside Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield.  

She has also built a successful video series with the Sunday Times in which she interviews celebrities and beauty experts such as Emilia Clarke, Victoria Beckham, Makeup by Mario, Emily Weiss and Beyonce's go-to make-up artist Sir John.

 She has also written for publications including Glamour, Harper's Bazaar and Vogue International. 

 

Tonia Buxton

Best selling author Tonia Buxton is a Presenter, Historian, Writer, Anti-aging expert, Gourmet Cook & Nutritionist which she balances with being a wife and mum to four children!

Straight-talking Tonia has always been a trailblazing cook with a no-compromise attitude when it comes to good food and good nutrition. Her highly acclaimed 5th book ‘The Secret of Spice’ was released last year full of tasty recipes to spice things up!

In 2006 Tonia won an RTS award for a series she devised for the Discovery Channel ‘My Greek Kitchen’ series 1 & 2 and she then filmed ‘My Cypriot Kitchen’, which was shown in 30 countries globally.

Today, Tonia is regularly seen on ‘GMB’, ‘Saturday Kitchen’, ‘Lorraine’ and ‘Sunday Brunch’ where she is a regular contributor.  Tonia was also the face of ITV’s ‘Good Morning Britain’ 100 day diet plan ‘Eat More Lose More’, which followed the popular ‘Sugar-Free Summer’ campaign the previous year. Tonia has also chatted with Philip & Holly on This Morning about how spices can revolutionise your life.

Her fourth book ‘The Real Greek’ (bringing to life the history of the restaurants) followed best seller ‘Eat Greek For A Week’, which shot to number two in the Amazon Bestsellers list just behind Jamie Oliver in the summer of 2016! The book promises to make you feel fitter and healthier in just a week.
